Five Benefits Of Laptop Computers
Years ago, we relied heavily on space consuming desktops but over the years a new breed of computer was born and thus the birth of the laptop. As to how small or how big your laptop should be, will depend on how you will use it.
The laptop you own should be able to satiate your needs be it for gaming, research, school, work or for simply surfing the net. If you are still wondering why people are choosing laptops over desktops here are some reasons.
1. Space saving. Think about it; if you have desktops, you will have to allot a particular amount of space for it. Not only that, you also need a table or computer table to place your desktop on.
We all know that desktops tend to be bulky especially if what you have for a monitor is the big type. The LCD monitor may reduce the space consumed but you still have the CPU that also takes up space.
If you have a desktop, it will certainly occupy a particular spot. If you have it inside your room, it will surely reduce the free space because mind you, computer tables don't come in small sizes.
2. Mobility. Can you imagine bringing your desktop to work or to school? No, simply because this is impossible to do.
Your desktop PC is comprised of the monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and a CPU. The monitor, mouse and keyboard are all connected to the CPU through a number of cables and of course, you might as well include the printer.
This set up makes it ultimately impossible to bring a desktop PC along so the alternative is the laptop. Yes, the laptop is like an all in one computer and because it is compact, it is easy to bring along. You can take it to school, to work or take it along while you are traveling. The mobility and portability of a laptop makes it very functional.
3. Battery. With a desktop PC you always have to worry of not being able to finish your work because of some power shortage. In addition, if there is no power, you won't able to use your desktop. The laptop, on the other hand, can continue working even if there is no power that is because it has its own power supply known as the battery.
The battery life of each laptop will of course vary but if you are the type who uses it heavily and you don't want to keep it plug to its extension cord, then you might want a battery that can last up to seven hours of continued usage. Another option is that you can have an extra battery on hand. In this way, you won't have to worry about power shortages.
4. Easy to use. Although the term laptop might sound complicated, it is in fact easier to use than your regular desktop PC. With a regular desktop computer, one has to learn the components like the CPU, monitor, keyboard and of course the mouse.
In addition, these components are separated from each other and are only connected to the CPU through cables. So if one fails, one has to learn to reconnect or detach the cables.
With the laptop, it is a different thing. All the components are molded into one single piece so you won't have to worry of reconnecting or detaching cables; plus, the power button is easy to find because it is located right in front of you.
5. Internet access. Now you can access the net anywhere you are in the globe as long as you are in an area where there is a wifi signal. With your laptop, the internet is always on hand so you no longer need to rush to the nearest internet cafe to check your emails and communicate with your loved ones or with the people you are doing business with.
